These terms apply when you use mocam.ie or the Mocam booking app, operated by Mocam Cleaning & Maintenance LTD (“Mocam”, “we”, “us”), registered office [REGISTERED ADDRESS], company number [CRO NUMBER]. In these terms, “Service Providers” means the self-employed cleaners and cleaning companies who carry out bookings for Mocam as our sub-contractors. Part A applies to customers, Part B to Service Providers, and Part C to everyone.
Mocam provides hourly-rate General, Deep, End of Lease, Builders and Office cleaning, carried out on Mocam’s behalf by Service Providers: self-employed cleaners and cleaning companies we have reviewed and approved to work for us as sub-contractors. When you request a booking, Service Providers who cover your area and the service you chose can apply for it, and you choose who carries it out. A request is not confirmed until you have chosen a Service Provider; we cannot guarantee that one will be available for every request.
Prices are per hour, per cleaner, with a minimum booking shown at the time of booking (currently 2 hours), and include VAT at the applicable rate (currently 13.5%). If you ask the Service Provider to bring cleaning products and equipment, an additional hourly amount applies, shown before you book. The total shown when you confirm, VAT included, is the price you pay for the hours booked. Business accounts are priced separately by agreement.
You need a valid payment card on your account to confirm a booking. By adding a card, you authorise us to charge it for the booking total once the job has been marked complete. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. You will receive a VAT receipt for each completed booking.
You can cancel a booking at any time, free of charge. As a courtesy, please give at least 3 hours’ notice so your Service Provider is not left with an unexpected gap. Repeated late cancellations may be taken into account in our review and reporting processes.
Each confirmed booking has a one-time 4-digit code. Give it to your Service Provider when they arrive; they need it to start the job. Do not share it before they are on site.
Please make sure your Service Provider can get in at the booked time, tell them about anything that needs special care, and secure valuables. Service Providers may decline or stop work if conditions are unsafe.
If something is not right, tell us through the app or at info@mocam.ie within 48 hours of the booking so we can put it right. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Service Providers are introduced to you through Mocam. If you want the same Service Provider again, or more work from them, please book it through the app. You agree not to arrange cleaning directly with a Service Provider you were introduced to through Mocam, outside Mocam, for 12 months after their last booking for you. If you would like a regular arrangement, contact us at info@mocam.ie and we will set up a recurring booking or business account. Booking through Mocam keeps your payment protected, gives you a VAT receipt and means we can help if something goes wrong.
Service Providers are not direct employees of Mocam Cleaning & Maintenance. You work for Mocam as a self-employed sub-contractor, either as a sole trader or through your own company. You choose which jobs to apply for and when you are available; there is no minimum amount of work and no obligation to accept, apply for or remain available for any job. You are free to work for other companies or for your own customers at the same time.
We review every application before a Service Provider can take jobs. You must upload a valid photo ID (passport, driving licence or Public Services Card) before we can approve you, and we may also ask for proof of insurance or references. The details you give us must be true and the ID must be your own. We may decline an application, or suspend or remove a Service Provider, for reasons including safety concerns, poor reviews, or breach of these terms. Blocked Service Providers can appeal through the app.
Your share of each job is shown before you apply. It is paid to your Stripe Connect account once the job is marked complete, after Mocam’s service fee and VAT. You are responsible for your own tax, PRSI, insurance and any registrations your business needs.
Because Mocam pays you as a sub-contractor, we keep records of what we pay you and, like any Irish business, share them with Revenue when tax law requires it.
If you can no longer do a job you have been chosen for, release it in the app as early as possible so it can be offered to other Service Providers. Releasing an accepted job reduces your rating by half a star; you will be warned before you confirm.
Do the work with reasonable care and skill, treat customers’ homes and belongings with respect, and keep customer details confidential and use them only for the booking.
Mocam invests in finding customers and introducing them to you. While you are a Mocam Service Provider, and for 12 months after your last job for a particular customer, you agree not to, directly or through anyone else:
If a customer asks to book you directly, tell them to rebook through the app, and let us know. Customer contact details shared for a booking may only be used for that booking. Breaching this clause is a serious breach of these terms: we may suspend or remove you from Mocam, and you agree to pay Mocam, as a genuine pre-estimate of our loss, the service fee we would have earned on that work, which we may deduct from any payouts due to you. This does not stop you working for anyone you already worked for before Mocam introduced you, or for anyone who finds you independently.
Keep your login details safe and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You can close your account at any time. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Reviews and messages must be honest, lawful and respectful. We may remove content that is abusive, false or breaches these terms.
We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
We may update these terms. We will post changes here and update the date above; significant changes will be emailed to account holders before they apply.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction.
